Sports Injuries
The benefits of sports and exercise far outweigh the risks, but occasionally injuries do happen. Sports injuries can result from sudden trauma, or repetitive stress associated with athletic activities, and can affect bones or soft tissue (muscles, ligaments, nerves and tendons).
If you have injured yourself, you may have immediate pain, tenderness, swelling, bruising, and restricted movement or stiffness in the affected area. Sometimes these symptoms may only be noticeable several hours after exercising or playing sports.
Common conditions we can treat include:
- Shin splints
- Pulled Calf/hamstring (or other muscles)
- Achilles and patella tendonitis (inflammation)
- Tennis/golfers elbow
- Runners knee
- ITB syndrome
- Post dislocated shoulders
- Back and neck pain
- Footballers ankle
- ACL (knee ligament) injuries
- Following treatment for broken bones
The Physio and Therapy Clinic will provide excellent and professional physiotherapy assessment and treatment following your injury. We will perform physical tests to confirm a diagnosis, and try to understand the cause of the injury (biomechanical assessment). With this information, we will be able to tailor a treatment plan for you, and be able to give you advice on how to prevent the injury from recurring.
With no waiting lists, you can be seen promptly, start your road to recovery, and get back to the sports you enjoy.
